The first Thursday in May: the first POETIC Thursday for the month. Today, we are joining our friend, Pam, and her ginger kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats, for some poetry.
This is the photo we were given for our inspiration this week:
And here’s my poem:
The Tiff
It’s a matter of WHEN and certainly not IF
a couple will have their very first tiff.
Feelings are hurt, and tempers flare;
not the best way to clear the air.
Then you’re both silent and look away,
neither one knows the right words to say.
So one of you needs to be the first
to start working through the anger and hurt.
Your love is still there, this is just a little bump.
Time to say, “ I’m sorry”, then kiss and make up.
~These Days Of Mine~
Yes indeed – even in the perfect (if there is such a thing!) relationship there are ups and downs. Your poem is sweet….compromise is the key. Thanks for playing poetry with us on Thursdays!
Pam
Well said! Especially like the kiss and make up! 🙂
Diane, I’m just writing to let you know that I’ve been following your blog for some years now, and this poem has really been the icing on the proverbial cake, as it were. I can’t tell you how difficult things have been with me and Marla recently, since losing our cat Craig Ferguson and her subsequent hysterectomy. We both really needed this today! In fact, we printed it out and posted it up on the fridge for all to see this morning. No shame in our game! Hope Marshall is well. Best wishes, Dean
that first one is always a doozy ….
We all have had a least one. Well said my friend.
