Welcome to September, and we’re beginning the month with our usual Thursday poetry. Each week, our friend, Pam and her ginger kitties, provide us with a photo for the following week’s poem.
Here’s this week’s photo:
And this is my poem:
Zzzzz
I spent last night awake and fretting;
we wanted ours to be the perfect wedding.
She has my heart, so I have no doubt.
But I’ll be so nervous, hope I don’t pass out.
What if my voice should falter
while saying our vows there at the altar?
But the wedding went off just as planned.
Now she’s my wife: I’m a lucky man.
Reception time with family and friends,
love all around, the celebration begins.
No sleep last night, and the stress of today,
yes, I dozed off, I’m ashamed to say.
It was a quick nap, and I woke up soon,
sure can’t sleep through the honeymoon!
~These Days Of Mine~
Cute poem as always….this picture is just so perfect for a giggle!

Love this! Light hearted and frisky.
Well done!
Cute! Hopefully, he’s just asleep and not passed out drunk!
What a smile! Cute sentiment – well stated.
Falter and altar …
