Time for poetry again as we join Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.
Our photo inspiration this week is a fun one, and immediately reminded me of the friendship I share with several of my former classmates from school. (And let me just say that the ‘dimensions’ of the ladies in the photo were NOT what brought that friendship to mind.)
Here’s my poem:
Surry Girls
Friends in the sunshine, friends in the rain.
Classmates in school – together again.
Sharing memories from when we were young;
we ran thru the rain, skipped rope in the sun.
We’ve all had our days of sunshine and rain;
gave thanks for the good times, prayed through the pain.
How blessed we are now, how blessed we have been.
So here’s to us, my Surry Girl friends.
~These Days Of Mine~
I’m sure your Surry Girls will love this! Thanks for playing poetry with us every week.
Pam
A loving, humorous tribute to your ‘gals’.
Aw, that is just too cute and perfect for your circle of friendship with those girls.
Bravo again … It’s cool that this painting brought this friendship to mind ( & not because of the ‘dimensions’ ) !
This Surry girl loves this poem!
