Boat Jam
He said: “Houses are expensive, let’s live on a boat;
it will be fun to just drift and float.
The waves will lull us to sleep at night,
and we’ll wake in the morning to soft sunlight.”
I’m trying to adjust: I really am,
but I never knew boats got in traffic jams.

British canal boats – we’ve watched a series of BBC shows on them – AMAZING!!! Your poem is a perfect picture of a jam! The long stretches of quiet would appeal to me. Loved it!
nice one ! I’ve seen tv shows about these houseboats … It’s almost like taking a crammed neighborhood, making the houses smaller & narrower, and stuffing them all on a waterway !
I agree…….the “romance of the water” for me doesn’t include traffic jams!! Good job with poetry this week kiddo.
