Poetic Thursday: He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Dog

Thursday means poetry here on These Days. Each week, we join Pam and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.

This is the photo inspiration for today’s poem:

And here’s my poem:

He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Dog

Our neighbors see us, and they just talk:
the dog’s a big baby, and my tot loves to walk.

We’ve become quite the sight, all around town.
Guess I should pick up my son, and put the dog down.

But for right now, we’ll just let things be,
but boy, oh, boy, is my back killing me?!
