Years ago, we bought this little wooden birdhouse garden decor and placed it in the flower bed by our bedroom. (The black pole to the side is a shepherd’s hook for one of our bird feeders.)
Its’ seen better days, and the little ‘flap’ at the back has a loose hinge. But yesterday, I caught this sweet little wren checking out the bird house.
I wondered if she were in search of a place to build a nest.
I went out later to look, and there was no evidence of any nesting materials.
I propped the little door back in place. I thought, if she wants to build, she might use the front door.
I’ve seen the following phrase many times on little home accents. Perhaps this was what Mama Wren had in mind.

How sweet! Don’t the birds just make your heart warm through and through? That’s true about backdoor guests!
I guess she was just checking out the real estate listing. 😉
She was probably sizing up how much work she’d need to do to rehab that little rental apartment ? If she is thinking about raising her family there she might want the landlord to fix the back door……LOL
