Windowpane Wednesday: Weather

It’s shaping up to be the wettest March on record for our area. Rain is expected to begin later today, and by the time Friday morning rolls around,  that rainfall could amount to two to three inches.

Although we only had a little mist yesterday, the skies around the time of sunrise were rather menacing.

There are advantages right now to having a lot of rain: the trees, it’s good for the shrubs and perennials that have leaves and buds emerging, it helps with the pollen for those who have allergies, and those fighting the wildfires in the northern and western parts of our state (Virginia) are glad for the help.

If only we could store some of this rain for the hot, humid months this summer, when rainfall is usually at a premium.

  1. Well, as of 11.30, there hasn’t been anything … which is good, because they were showing a total washout for most of the day ….

  2. As always a beautiful picture of God’s art work. They are calling for rain here today thru Friday. Stay dry.

  3. Yes to limited rain in the summer. Seems like we’ve always looked to the skies as we prayed for rain for the crops. Beautiful sky that you’ve captured.

  4. You’re right – we’ll miss this “wet” when we’re suffering with hot and humid summer weather. Hopefully it is helping with the wildfires but many of the worst of those are in the foothills and mountains……if we could “redirect” this rain it would be great for that area!!
