Poetic Thursday: Staged

Poetry today on the last Thursday in March.  Our hosts, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats, gave us this photo last week for today’s inspiration:

Here’s my poem:

Staged

Party for one on the living room floor,
the parents are pooped: they can’t ‘hang’ any more.

Their energy is sapped,
it’s a bad time for a nap.

Apple juice with a straw in a wine glass, no less.
Goldfish and cookies and toys, what a mess.

Of course, it’s staged: see Dad’s little grin.
Playtime’s over, guys, let the clean-up begin.

  1. I think Dad’s grin is because he’s having a dream – maybe that the kids are at Granma’s and he can sleep as LOOOOONG as he wants to! LOL Cute poem though……thanks for playing along with us.

  2. I was about to say that a poem about the clean up might not be as entertaining, but then again ………

  3. Cute picture and poem!

  4. Soooo, clean up can just WAIT!!! Let’s enjoy the dream a little while longer. What can it hurt? Tomorrow is another day. Such a cute poem.

  5. That’s a great poem. I miss those days and yet, I also don’t miss them.

  6. You are a talented poem writer.
