Closing out the month of August with poetry today. Our Thursday habit is to join our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats as they host Poetic Thursday.

Those Shorts
Dude, you’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do,
stop right there, let’s have a word or two.
Instead of smelling the flowers you picked by the road,
you need to be helping her with that load.
I guess it’s true that it takes all sorts,
just don’t get me started on those shorts.
Maybe it’s staged, and the photo’s not real,
maybe this guy isn’t really a ‘heel’.
But still….those shorts.

I SOOO agree! I struggled with which direction to go in Angel Sammy’s poem today – the shorts or the load – went with the load in the end. You managed to give us a “two for one” !! I initially laughed when I found this photo then I wound up getting a bit upset the more I thought about it – I was hoping it would inspire everyone this week!

The first thing that caught my attention was the woman carrying everything. What’s that all about. Then the SHORTS oh my goodness! Good poem my friend. 💖🤗🌞
