Monday’s Memories: Autumn

We can almost feel autumn in the air here in southeast Virginia.  So today, I’m sharing a couple of childhood photos of Marshall and me, celebrating fall.

The picture of me was taken when I was three years old. I love that you can barely see the old dairy barn across the highway in the background, as well as the white fence that enclosed the barnyard. The fence is still there, although I’m sure portions of it have been replaced through the years.

I was too young to remember this particular day, but, I recall, in the years that followed, what fun it was to play in leaves after they were raked into piles.

And, years later, a picture of two-year old Marshall, posing with a fall scene, including a pumpkin almost as big as he was.

Maybe I can find a picture of him in his Halloween costume that year…that might be a Monday’s Memories post in a few weeks.

  1. Definitely seeing it in spots – just waiting for the humidity to go away to officially enjoy it !

  2. Not only is that pumpkin almost the same size as Marshall, Marshall’s SMILE is almost as big as the pumpkin too!

  3. Look how cute both you and Marshall were! Not to say that the two of your aren’t still cute. 😉 But there’s just something about those childhood photos that brings huge smiles to one’s face.

  4. Oh how much fun a pile of leaves provided. After the humidity of the past couple of days, I’m looking forward to the fall temps. Cute picture of both generations of Fall lovers.
