Thursday again; poetry again with our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy. They blog over at Two Spoiled Cats, and each week, they host this fun meme.
Last week, they gave us this adorable picture for our inspiration for today’s poetry:

Here’s my poem:
The Looking Glass
From that very first look,
most of us are hooked.
Catching a glimpse, here and there;
checking our make-up or maybe our hair.
A lifeline for teenage boys and girls,
when that tiny pimple is the end of the world.
A full-length one on your wedding day,
as your dad nervously waits to give you away.
First thing in the morning, what a scare.
Hurry! Wash your face and comb your hair.
Our autumn years bring wrinkles, my friends.
But they just remind us where smiles have been.
~These Days Of Mine~

You are SO right about wrinkles – I’m proud of my laugh lines but maybe not quite so proud of my age related ones BUT all of them add up to proof of a long and happy life (so far!). Love your poem and love that you play poetry with us every week.
Pam
Very nice …. sometimes the looking glass looks back !
This is such a wonderful and truthful fun poem in ode to mirrors. Well done, you. 😊
What a wonderful look at the mirror that reflects our lives back at us. I LOVED your treatment of the picture.
The picture is adorable. Nicely done poem!
