“These Days Of Mine” is celebrating its fifteen year anniversary today. Wow, fifteen years.
From the moment I had the first inklings of beginning a blog, I knew what I wanted the subject of the first post to be. If you’d like to read (or reread) that, you can click here.
Although I could never pick a favorite, for sure, one of them would be this post.
And another contender is this one.
At one point, some of my posts would have nearly 50 comments, now a good day will have maybe five. Many of the bloggers that began around the same time I did are no longer blogging, so that accounts for some of the decrease. Over these fifteen years, I’ve also lost family members and friends who followed and commented.
Making online friends through blogging has been a highlight. And I’ve reconnected with some long lost relatives (and one I didn’t previously know) through the posts about Bacon’s Castle.
Many of the memes that I participated in are no longer, but I do enjoy the Poetic Thursday posts, joining my dear friend, Pam, at Two Spoiled Cats. Blogging brought us together, and she’s among my dearest friends.
When I began, I was blogging seven days a week, now I’m down to two. How much longer will I blog? Well, I obviously don’t do it for the comments, so I guess at this point, it’s mostly just for me.
But every once in a while, I’ll have a pleasant surprise when someone mentions the blog, and I had no idea they were a follower. That happened a few days ago when my nephew mentioned in a text that he reads my blog. (Hi, John!)
Thanks to those of you who’ve been here from the beginning, as well as to those who’ve joined along the way. And always to my two guys who read every post.

Fifteen years of blogging is quite an accomplishment and I’m so glad our blogging times brought us together as friends. Plus the added extra bonus of meeting in person. I think we both deserve a pat on our backs for persistently blogging for so long. I just hope we both can continue!

Well I’m just now seeing this post of yours my friend – but it’s never too late to congratulate someone who’s been blogging for 15 long years right? I am right behind you with 14 years of the joy of blogging and isn’t it great that we “found” each other that way? AND so many other friends all these years? Here’s to many more years (or at least as long as we WANT to blog!!).

Happy Anniversary! I’ve loved reading your blogs. Sometimes they make me smile, laugh out loud, or reflect. I think “Where I’m From” is my favorite too. Thanks for sharing your heart and talents with us.
I am excited when I see your email with your message of the day. I appreciate that you allow the cats to have their day also. Because I get the email, I don’t stop to send a comment. I do enjoy the pictures, miss the ones of the horses on the beach. For those of us without nature outside our window, you bring it to us. Thank you for sharing all of the years and keep on going!!
On September 26, it will be our 15th Anniversary for Stars For Our Troops, Inc. What a rewarding time we have had recycling the embroidered Stars from American made flags to give to our current military, veterans and first responders to let them know they will not be forgotten.
May we both continue for at least another 15 years!
