It’s Thursday again, which means poetry with our friend, Pam, and her kitties Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats.
They provided us with this photo for this week’s inspiration:
This one struck home with me. Motor Man has always said that I could cut a steel beam in half with my eyes at 20 feet away. And the last line of my poem is a direct quote that I heard my Mom say many times. I guess I have something in common with that little guy in today’s photo.
Here’s my poem:
I just can’t help it, and I’ve really tried
to break this bad habit of cutting my eyes.
Many times my sister is the one
I look at this way because of something she’s done.
And when my teacher looks the other way,
my eyes do the talking; I’ve nothing to say.
But it doesn’t work with my mom, you see,
she just says: “Don’t you cut those eyes at me”.
