Yes, it’s true, I’m back for Poetic Thursday after several weeks of not participating.

Our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy host Poetic Thursday each week on their blog, Two Spoiled Cats. Last week, they provided this photo for inspiration:

Here’s my poem:

By The Brook

Let’s slip away to the house by the brook;
we’ll walk by the water and explore every crook.

Picnic fixings in the cooler we took,
so neither of us will have to cook.

I’ll sit by the window in the reading nook
and lose myself in a summertime book.

Before we leave, one long, last look:
“Until next time, little house by the brook”.
