Sunset Sunday – Inspiration Point

You may recall my post earlier in the week about Balboa, and the area where scenes from Gilligan’s Island were filmed.

Above that cliff is an overlook known as Inspiration Point. And it’s a glorious place to view the sunset.

There’s a walkway down to the beach. This next picture was taken from along the walkway.

From the beach…

A few minutes later…

And the little sailboat heads into harbor.

  1. Breathtakingly beautiful…..you certainly were able to capture the flavor of the endless beaches of California. The ones from the walkway and on the beach are my favorites but every photo you’ve shared from your trip has been just plain lovely!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous! Makes me want to go there…about the only place we can see sunsets like that on the water around here (unless you are lucky enough to live on a river!) would be on the Albemarle or Currituck Sounds…and it still wouldn’t be the same. I am enjoying all your photos from your trip!

  3. Beautiful sunset….as lovely as it is, the ones from your back yard are just as lovely!

  4. gorgeous! always gorgeous!

  5. Wonderful sunset in CA. It’s hard to find a quiet place like that without lots of houses and boats and people…but you found it!

  6. Inspirational – truly.

  7. These are great shots and inspiring pictures that make you think…I love the ocean and the sandy beach looks so inviting…love walking barefoot through the little waves and the tides…even if it is cold:)

  8. This spot was named well .. I can easily see somebody set up with an easel and a canvas, painting away. Or perhaps a photographer ?? 🙂

  9. Beautiful photos, Dianna.

  10. Love the first shot Dianna. Third and fourth shot I swear we took our sunset pictures on the same night of vacation 🙂 Same beautiful sky in Balboa as in Venice from coast to Gulf! What a beautiful vacation you had.
