Sundae Says… I’m A Travelin’ Gal

Hi! It’s Sundae – writing today’s blog post.

And I have BIG news. This past weekend, I had a traveling adventure. I rode with Motor Man and Motor Mommy to their beach house. It’s about a two hour drive each way, and we spent the night! Motor Mommy wasn’t sure about me going along, but Motor Man kind of insisted.

Mommy placed a throw and a little kitty bed on the back seat for me. I found it to be very comfy.

For awhile I was content to just look around.

Then I decided to move over closer to the window.

Then, to the other window. I think I look pretty official in this one. Perhaps I could become a chauffeur and wear one of those nifty little hats.

I sat up on the console for a little while, so I could keep an eye on Motor Man’s driving. After all, if I’m going to become a chauffeur, I need to learn all I can.

But, soon I became tired of looking out the windows. I moved back to my little bed and began to doze off.

Next time, I’ll share some pictures of me at the beach house.   I was a very good  kitty, so Motor Man and Motor Mommy will take me with them again. I think I could get used to being a traveling kitty.

WHEEE! It's a road trip!

  1. Dianna ummm I mean Sundae I hope Motor Mommy and Motor Man know how lucky they are that you are such a good traveling cat! That is just absolutely the most wonderful thing for them that they don’t have to listen to you howl and yowl all the way to the beach house. Out of 9 cats we had only two that liked a road trip. You are a very good kitty. I love your pictures and can’t wait for more kitty news from the beach house. Two hours is quite a trip for you!

  2. I bet Motor Mommy packed your very own traveling litter pan too 🙂

  3. Oh TOOOO Cute! Sundae looks like she had a grand time “helping” drive on the road trip to OBX! She looks quite content in the car – unlike her friend Sam who hides his head in his Mom’s armpit!!! Does this make her officially a “Motor Kitty” ????

    Pam (and Sam)

  4. She sure looks like a good traveler; I’d like a picture of her in a chauffeur hat, please 🙂

  5. I like Sammy’s name for you – Motor Kitty! That fits! Of course, Sundae is more feminine for such a pretty cat. What great fun to take a road trip – our Sweetie Dog took her first trip with us the day after we got her, so she thinks she is SUPPOSED to go with us on every trip. If I pick up her carrier to move it, she jumps in! l am so glad you enjoyed the trip – and I think you would lok nifty in a chauffeur cap! Have a great day!

  6. Sundae, did you have fears of being returned to the pet rescue shelter!!?? Maybe after seeing you were heading in a different direction, your mind was eased. So glad to hear you loved the beach house and that you love to travel!! As sweetdaysundertheoaks mentioned the average kitty does not like road trips. Of course we all know that you are “Above Average”!!

  7. When YOU climbed on HER lap! Bah! It is too early for my thoughts to reach my fingers to type. That’s a picture Dianna, you climbing on Sundae’s lap. Goodness I think I need to go back to bed! Did you fix that or did I read it wrong the first time. I AM going back to bed!!!!

  8. I was immediately reminded of the old SNL feature, Toonses the Driving Cat. Of course, Sundae would be a much better driver than Toonses…

  9. Sundae has joined the ranks to become…Motor Kittie!!! Love it. I have traveled with cats before…it’s not as easy as dogs, but eventually they will calm down and relax a bit on longer rides.

  10. But even when Toonses would drive over a cliff, everyone would be OK!!

  11. Motor Kitty is not stupid – she knows that she won’t be left at home alone as often if she rides in a Motor Vehicle! Motor Man, Motor Mommy, Motor Kitty motoring all over the place. You might as well go ahead and buy a Motor RV – you know you wanna haha!!

  12. Sounds like you’re ready for more beach vacations, Sundae. You’re definitely a travelin’ kitty-girl!

  13. Sundae, what a good girl you are. I’m so glad you’re getting to go on vacation. You deserve a fun adventure and time to rest. 🙂

  14. How good of you to find so much to do in the car. Poor T-Bob kind of howls when he gets in a car or truck and won’t even look out the window. You are a traveler.

  15. How cute! I love the “official” photo. I’m glad Sundae ended up being such a good traveler.

  16. Seriously what cat wouldn’t love a beach house? Now that she knows when she gets in the car that’s where she’ll end up…she’ll always want to go for a ride!

  17. you sure are a cutie! stay safe now that you’re a big-time traveler!

  18. Well behaved and no car sickness … you passed the
test. Looks like you will be traveling a lot.
    Lucky you,
    Marshmellow ~~~ : – )

  19. Love roadtrips! Sundae looks very contented, and I’m sure the weekend was a nice change from lounging around the house. Always good to get out and about, even for cats. Nice when their humans can come along too! ~ Sheila

  20. What a great story along with pictures. It reminds me of Beezy!

  21. Let’s see .. two things I was going to comment have already made it here .. 1.) Motor Kitty is what came to mind by the time I got to the fifth pic!
2.) Definitely a reminder of Beezy 😉 – always ready to get on the road!!

The visit to the beach house should be a good post .. I’ve already seen one pic that -might- show up on it !

  22. You’re a good little traveler, Sundae. I’m not so sure Stormy would be so good. In fact, I’m almost positive she wouldn’t. I’d be afraid to let her roam around in the car freely like you get to. She might decide to try to pull the car over! I don’t know what we’ll going to do for future travels because our kitten-sitter is moving this summer! Have fun!

  23. I love the dozing off picture. Out for a Sundae drive takes on new meaning for me. Glad you enjoyed the ride. 🙂

  24. Hi Sundae Girl! Minnie and I loved your post….how fun to go with your Mom and Dad….wheeee is right:) You are so sweet Sundae….and you will make a great driver:) Meow Meow Meow:)

  25. So cute! I see Motor Man was driving Miss Sundae instead of Miss Daisy. 😉

  26. Love the last picture. She just looks like she’s taking it all in!

  27. Sundae, you are special indeed. Never have I heard of a cat that would ride so well in the car…and like it. Wow.
    ~d.

  28. I had one cat that loved riding in the car. Every other cat I’ve ever had has about a 3 mile limit. Then – it’s puke time.

  29. yes it makes it nice when you can take our pets off with us , we dont have the worry of them being back at home, they are with us and we and they are content, good for sundae. a new adventure !

  30. don’t know how i missed this ~ very FUN!!!! And you got some really good shots, too!
