On this Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be appropriate to share photos of a RED barn.
It just so happens that Motor Man spotted this one for me last week. We were driving out in the country – taking a detour to avoid traffic from an accident – and he saw it over in a field behind a really old house.
I love the weathered red paint.
And the fact that we found and photographed it in the afternoon’s golden hour just added to its beauty.

Yeah I agree it is a lovely barn, love the colour and how it is sort of the main road (or at least that is how it looks). Well done Motorman for noticing it.
so cool. wouldn’t it be great to be able to wiggle your nose and travel back in time to see how it was when the barn was in it’s prime and observe the people and animals coming and going?

When I was growing up, we had a big red barn on our farm. Unfortunately, it did not withstand damages from a hurricane some years ago and it’s sad not to see it there when I go back to the area. I love the stage of weatheredness that this one is at…you can still see plenty of paint, but also the weathered look of bare boards.
