These sunrise pictures were taken Tuesday morning. In the first one, I caught an egret taking flight. It seems I disturbed him when I opened the door to take pictures.
The sunrise is occuring quite a bit later now than it was just a few weeks ago. Apparently I wake with the sunlight, because I’m tending to sleep a little later these mornings.
I’m glad I didn’t sleep through this sunrise.
There’s just something about waiting and watching as the sun rises above the horizon, or on this particular morning, the clouds.
* Be sure to visit tomorrow for photos of one of my all-time favorite sunsets.

Simply gorgeous! I would not want to miss one of these!
Beautiful……love the egret adding to the tableau. If you visit Sam’s blog this morning you’ll see we’ve nominated you for the Addictive Blog Award….which is certainly deserved since we ARE addicted!!

What a glorious sunset!
Love these. The egret is such a beautiful bonus!
Another beautiful sunrise! The egret must be a newcomer…if he’d been around much, he would know your door opens to catch the sunrise!
Sunrises like that are definitely worth waking up for! Just beautiful.
Good morning, Mr. Egret! Real intensity to this sunrise. Never ceases to amaze me that these moments are simultaneously so dramatic AND peaceful.
love the smokiness in these!
It’s great when a cloud bank off in the distance looks like hills or mountains … These give the impression of a sunrise over the hills! Especially the last one .. Are you going to start feeding the egrets ?! 😉
I agree with Marshall it does look like mountains or hills in the background. Th egret is a special treat. Thanks and have a good Labor Day weekend end!
Just gorgeous….it never hurts to have all that water to reflect off of!
Can’t wait to see what you’re gonna show us next.

So beautiful! I’ve missed your photos since I’ve been on a blog break during August. Glad to be back! ~ Sheila
Glad to hear you are getting a few extra winks of sleep. The colors were beautiful on the water that morning. Good job capturing the egret.
don’t you just love egrets—i think they are so very pretty. lovely photos.
I can see the light is changing in your sunrise pictures—it gives us extra sleep in the morning but it heralds the change of season too :-(. Beautiful, as always!
