Random Five Friday

Five randoms for the first Friday in July:

1.) I would love for my readers to submit captions for this photo I took a few days ago:

2.) A striking sunrise from last Friday morning:

3.) A silly picture of me during last week’s Olden Days. Earlier in the day, I had bought an old watering can for $15 at the “vintage market”, then saw this very similar one in an antique shop – for $43.

4.  I’ve often said that early morning is my favorite time of day.  Recently, I stepped outside on our deck one morning, camera in hand, and soon realized I wasn’t alone. Three fawns and an older deer were enjoying the morning as well. (Sound on: the birds were happy, too.)

5.) Next week, I’m taking a little vacation from blogging. We have family coming in from out of town, and it looks to be a busy week.

A safe and happy Fourth!

  1. I think the deer wants to race against the bicycle. I believe the deer would win.

  2. These are all great Dianna! Caption for the first one: “Oh “Dear” I’ve been caught”… The fawn movie is fantastic. I would say the mom deer has her hands full with the baby who seems to be loving life to the fullest;) Beautiful sunrise, love the clouds and the reflection on the water. And glad it wasn’t the reverse scenario with the watering can purchase…Ha! Happy 4th to you too and hope the family time is lots of fun:)

  3. I can’t come up with a good caption but that deer looks like you caught her in action! Have a great holiday with family and friends! I will be back on Tuesday!

  4. 1.) The deer says to the bicycle, “You’re the oddest deer I ever seen.”
2.) Your sunrise photo is breathtaking. It looks to be a prelude to a beautiful day.
3.) Wow! your expression is spot-on for the shocking difference in the price. What a good deal you got in the one you bought. $45. is unreal. lol
4.) Thanks for the video. It’s almost like a fairytale. What darling neighbors you have that blesses you with their visits. Great video.
5.) Have a wonderful time visiting with your family.
Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July!
    🙂

I wonder if they would notice if I took this bike for a spin.

  6. I think that doe is saying “Ahhh – a girls bike – maybe I’ll ride this around the yard a bit!”………..nice photos and I think it’s GREAT you’re taking a blog break while your company is here. Have tons of fun and a Happy 4th!

  7. 1. Caption: (like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar) “Who, me? Eat your flowers? Not me!”
    2. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You have the most beautiful sunrises at your house.
    3. Love that expression! Hubby and I were just at some ‘vintage and antique’ shops and having a good laugh over the fact that several items we use at our house are apparently now classified as ‘antiques.’ Ha. And yes, some of them are way over-priced. Glad you found the bargain one first.
    4. The fawns do enjoy your place. Such a sweet video.
    5. See you when you get back! Happy Independence Day, Dianna!!

  8. 1.) ” Some other deer borrowed my bike .. those flowers aren’t mine .. ” ; )
2.) Love the cloud texture …
    3.) Perfect expression!
    4.) A morning to enjoy !
5.) It will probably be a busy one!

Your photos are beautiful as always. Thanks so much for sharing them. I always enjoy your blog. I’ll miss it this week! Have fun with your family, though! It sounds like a wonderful week is on tap for you! Have a great time!

  10. The beautiful deer said, “Good morning world”.

  11. Shirley Matthews Dunn

Another great R5F! The deer is thinking” If I could figure out how to drive this thing, I would be more famous than Dumbo”

  12. May your 4th of July weekend be filled with many happy and treasured moments. I suspect we might see some of those moments next weekend.

  13. Caption: I said: “Wanna Ride” Hubby said “Where’s the starter?” Love, Love the fawn video We watch them play in our back field like that – unbridled joy! Don’t you just love it when you acquire a ‘find’ for a bargain? Your 4th picture never gets old – it’s a favorite of mine. Beautiful sunrise!
Enjoy your visiting family! Looking forward to pics of your adventures together.

  14. Can’t possibly come up with a caption, I’m laughing too much. That is a blue ribbon photo!
But the first thing that comes to mind is:
“What? This isn’t a designated Ladies’ Room?” (I don’t know why I imagine the deer rode the bicycle to the tree and parked it quickly for a rest stop.)
Such a treat to watch that sweet deer family video.

  15. “Ooh, are those flowers for me?”

Lovely video, makes you glad to be alive. Thank you!

  16. “Petals or pedals? I can never keep them straight.”

  17. It sounds like you got a deal on the old watering can at the vintage market. Have a wonderful 4th!

  18. Darling videeoh! Happy 4th! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday!

  19. Love the fawn video. She’s got her work cut out for her! The fawns reminded me of a pair of young squirrels who’ve been cavorting around the backyard lately. So funny to watch. The first photo shows the ultimate “deer in the headlights” look. Somebody got caught thinking about munching on flowers. Isn’t it nice to know you got a good price on your watering can?
