Thursday has rolled around again. Time for Poetic Thursday with Pam and her kitties over at Two Spoiled Cats.
Here’s the photo inspiration for this week’s poem:
And this is my poem:
No More Time Clocks
No more time clocks; no more bosses,
no more watching profits and losses.
No more alarms to start the day,
just friends to visit and games to play.
Each day they meet, and a new game begins,
but it’s the friendship that matters; not who wins.
And to all you young folks passing by:
this will be YOU in the blink of an eye.
~These Days Of Mine~
This pic reminded me of the old days… When Marshall and I played chess. We had an ongoing game at his house. It sat on a table in the corner. When I came over I’d move a piece, then he would, then we would wait until next time to make another move. No one ever won. His dad would always clean and put the pieces back before the game was finished. I hope I can talk him into another game before we are “seniors”!
Good job! When I found this photo all I could think of was “best friends through thick and thin and lose or win”…….that’s friendship. Thanks for joining us on the poetic fun each week………
Pam
Made me smile for all the friendships – past and present – that I’m remembering. We need to slow down and enjoy before ‘the blink of the eye’. Maybe enjoy a glass of tea:) What a sweet remembrance from Kristen.
So true. You nailed it!
Very very nice … and so true .. I remember the ongoing chess game.. I also remember that time we wound up with a draw with just our kings left. Only time that ever happened to me !
I told your mom about our stale mate this morning! We still think just alike! Lol
Great poem!
All your poems have been great but this one, my friend, is my favorite. ❤
That is so beautiful! Love all your poems for the Thursday photos but this one especially needs to be published and shared more!
