I just love Thursdays! It’s so much fun participating in Poetic Thursday with Pam, Teddy, and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats.
This is our photo inspiration for today’s poem:
And here’s my poem:
Friends
Come on, buddy, let me show you my land.
I know this place like the back of my hand.
I’m so glad these paths are safe to roam.
Since I was born, this has been my home.
It’s a neat place to share a walk with a friend;
after lunch we’ll go exploring again.
We’re young now, but friends we will be,
even when we’re old….like thirty.
This photo brought back memories of this picture of my friend, Donna, and me:
And we, too, are going to be friends even when we’re thirty.
~These Days Of Mine~
Sweet! I loved this photo when I found it – I just knew it would be great inspiration for some poems about friendship and companionship……and I was right!
Pam
so wonderful and inspiring, dianna.
Brought tears to my eyes!! Hit so close to home. George and I both thought it was the BEST!!! Thanks for the memories.
Looks like a good “down on the farm” shot to me … Nice lines, once again !
So entertaining! And the photo of you and your friend Donna makes it perfect!!
