Happy Monday and welcome to August.
1.) How’s the weather been in your area? After a long dry period, we’ve had about two inches of rain in the past few days. Our forecast this evening through tomorrow is predicting possibly 4-6 inches of rain, thanks to Tropical Storm Isaias. (I’m just glad I can type the name and not have to pronounce it.) This cloud is from a storm we had a few days ago.
2.) I was cutting zinnias out in the flowerbed recently and spotted this tiny white ‘spider’. EEK…I don’t do spiders.
3.) A few of my former school classmates and I met for lunch last week. Guess this is a sign of the times.
4.) Speaking of the times we’re living in, Saturday would have been my family reunion, which Motor Man and I have been hosting for the past few years. Of course, we didn’t have it this year, so I ‘waxed nostalgic’ this weekend about the reunions of my youth. This picture is of my maternal grandmother with her twelve children. My mom is in the white top, with her arms folded in front. Grandma passed away in 1969, so this picture was prior to that time.
5.) Motor Man and I have track-side parking at our local race track. Saturday night, we had a 2 1/2 hour rain delay before the races could start. Thankfully, our ‘neighbor’ has a sweet pup, Pepper, who helped me pass the time.
Well, I’m heading outside to ‘batten down the hatches’ before the storm. Have a safe week.
