Welcome to another Poetic Thursday with Pam and her ginger kitty boys, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats.
Each week, they provide us with a photo to inspire our poem for the following week. This is the photo for this week:
And my poem:
Seasons
Orange, red and yellow- and even some green,
the Artist paints an autumn scene.
The leaves of summer will soon be falling,
just before winter comes calling.
This old tree has witnessed it all:
the greens of summer, the crunch of fall,
the white of winter, the budding of spring,
the beauty that each season brings.
~These Days Of Mine~
What a lovely poem! Trees – especially the big old ones – always make me think of all the seasons they’ve seen not to mention all the OTHER things they’ve witnessed – tornadoes, fires, blight, chain saws – we have some tremendously old oaks in our woods and they remind me of strength and resilience. We humans could learn something from them if they could only talk! Thanks for being poetic partners with us every week!!
Pam (and Teddy too)
Your poem is very poetic. 🙂
Oh how BEAUTIFUL – both the picture and your poem. I look forward to the inspiration and poem every Thursday.
Beautiful
A beautiful poem for my favorite season.
I think about things like this when I see a tree that’s obviously been there for a while … & the “crunch of fall” … bravo …..
Beautiful fall poem, Dianna.
