Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! Pam and her boys at Two Spoiled Cats provided us with a sweet picture for this Christmas Eve version of Poetic Thursday.
Here’s my poem:
They tried so hard to stay up late:
Santa was coming, and they wanted to wait.
But it was too much for sleepy eyes,
not even time to search the skies.
Santa arrived and found these babes,
sound asleep in their little pj’s.
Time and again, this scene unfolds,
but for Saint Nicholas, it never gets old.
He posed for a picture, left their toys,
then jumped back in his sleigh, making no noise.
So, ‘walk up’, Rudolph, it’s time to take flight.
Merry Christmas, Santa, and safe travels tonight.
And Merry Christmas to all of you!
