Last week, a classic car club paid a visit to our town. Rather than drive their cars, some members who lived good distances away, transported them in trailers. Motor Man had been asked by a local member of the club if they could park those trailers in our parking lot during their visit. We agreed.
This was the first to arrive: a 1930 Cadillac that was completely restored by the owner.
On Friday, the car club took a tour of Bacon’s Castle. Motor Man and I decided to be there when they arrived, so we could get some photos. And when I’m there, I always, always take a picture of the house.
Unfortunately, the weather was very threatening that afternoon, so although several of the car club members came for the tour, many of them drove their ‘modern’ vehicles. Only three classic cars braved the weather.

In this picture, the Packard is on the left, in the center is a 1941 Cadillac 60 Special, and on the right is a 1937 Packard.
Motor Man and I left when the members went inside for their tour. Bacon’s Castle posted this picture on their Facebook page later in the day, and gave me permission to share it. (1937 Packard, 1929 Packard, 1941 Cadillac)
What was so special to me (and Motor Man and I both realized this), was the fact that, when all these cars were built, my family was living there at Bacon’s Castle.
Just thinking about that made the afternoon even more special for me.

The special cars are such treasures . Being at the Castle was a perfect place.
The Castle looks amazing with any flashy car in the foreground ! – it’s a timeless power I noticed when the Corvette clubs would visit years ago … Those are some good looking rides – reminds me of the time they filmed that video “The Machine” there – same era car, I believe …
