Happy Thursday and welcome to poetry. Each week, we join our friends Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats and celebrate Poetic Thursday.
Our photo for this week’s inspiration:
And here’s my poem:
The Band
Hey, Joey, I’m glad you joined the band.
We’re gonna be famous and have lots of fans.
Maybe we’ll be like the group, Sawyer Brown.
Mom always sees them when they come to town.
The lead singer’s like me: he wears cool hats,
and I think I can learn to dance like that.
We’ll practice hard, and it will be fun,
but first, we need a REAL set of drums.
The group, Sawyer Brown, has been one of my favorite entertainers since the early/mid 1980’s. I was reminded of them when I saw the photo inspiration this week, especially with the little guy wearing the hat. I went to several Sawyer Brown concerts ‘back in the day’, Marshall and I met them when he was a little boy, and Motor Man and I have been to a couple of their concerts in recent years.
~These Days Of Mine~
Thanks for joining in our Poetry fun……this little boy band was a fun photo to use as inspiration!
Pam
Nice memory and great poem to go with the picture and the memory.
Clever personal connection in your poetry! Love the pic of Marshall and singer!
I don’t know how you do it, but you come up with a perfect poem every week! 🙂
Looks like this band has two drummers ..
That means TWO drum kits …
I wonder why their parents haven’t bought them yet ?? ; )
I love when you include a life event with your poem. Wonderful memory & poem.
