Another Thursday, another poem. Thanks to Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats who host Poetic Thursday each week.
Here’s the photo they gave us for inspiration:
I had a little fun with this one:
Granny
Don’t cross Granny, ‘cause she’s old school,
and a rolling pin is a versatile tool.
Don’t give her lip or tell her lies,
especially on Friday when she’s baking pies.
That pin in hand and an evil eye,
get right with Jesus, ‘cause you’re gonna die.
She stops, then says: “You’ve a lesson to learn,
but I think my pies are starting to burn.
So get in that kitchen and help with the dishes,
and if this happens again, I will dust your britches.”
~These Days Of Mine~
I Laughed Out Loud!!! Don’t we all know that look, that Grandma/Mom, and those quotes. THANK you for a wonderful uplifting start to my day!
Love it……yes indeed – never mess with Granny about ANYTHING. Sadly I never had a Granny to lecture me or wave a rolling pin around BUT my Mom did a pretty good job of keeping us under control! Thanks for playing along with us on Poetry Day…………
Pam
Awesome ! I like how you got Baptist with it ! ; )
I was blessed with knowing my grandmothers. Grandmama Matthews I could do nothing wrong and Mammy Horne well lets just say I expected to be a good girl. lol Loved them both.
I can just hear Granny saying all of that now! Perfect and very funny too!
