Windowpane Wednesday: Vieques Bound

Today’s photos were taken from the window of our ‘puddlejumper’ plane from San Juan to the island of Vieques. We flew Vieques Air Link (VAL).

It was such a turbulent flight, I was using photography to try to calm myself. Thankfully we landed within about 30 minutes.

I was reminded once again of the plaque we saw inside a little airport years ago:

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man:
landing is the first.

  1. Love that saying and have heard it before – it’s totally true too isn’t it. Having spent a lot of time in turbulence in a two seater is one thing but on a larger plane it’s a lot different. Our last flight to AND from Maine last year was amazingly turbulent – makes you think about all kinds of stuff you normally don’t think about!! Beautiful photos too!!!!!

  2. Perfect quote! Only flew a prop once, and it was turbulent too.
    Makes for great pictures though.

  3. Any one of ’em you walk away from ! ; )
