My regular readers (thank you) know how much I love bluebirds. It was just a few years ago that we began putting out meal worms and enjoying those beautiful flashes of blue in our yard.
In the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen some babies (the correct term is ‘immature’) and have seen the parents feeding them several times. Poppa on the right, baby on the left:

It’s been fun watching the babies who haven’t quite figured out how to maneuver the bluebird feeder.

There has to be a way to get in there!
Poppa was busy feeding both babies. They were all perched on the wire of our Edison solar lights.

I think one of the babies has figured out the situation. This feeder was gifted to me by a former classmate and friend.

Here’s a short video of one of the feedings. I don’t think the baby was done quite yet.

You and I have talked about this before but I continue to see more bluebirds here than EVER before. It’s wonderful to see so many. They make me happy when I see them.

Like I said the other night – amazing blues ! Hard to decide if the mature or immature are more impressive !
Yes, AMAZING!!! My Dad encouraged the appreciation of the beautiful bluebirds by pointing out their nests in fence posts. He’d protected the posts from rot by nailing a metal paint can on the top of the posts. Thanks for the pictures and reminder of the memory.
So wonderful! I know how much you enjoy them and they love coming to your house. 🙂
Beautiful creatures of God. Great pictures.
