Poetic Thursday: Spooky

It’s Thursday again and time for poetry. As we do each week, we’re joining Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.

Programming note:  Pam is taking a (well deserved) blogging break next week, so the next Poetic Thursday is planned for November 2.

This is the photo for our inspiration today:

And here’s my poem:

Spooky

Stop little girl: you’d best turn around.
How did you get so far out of town?

You must be so very scared;
no good could come from you climbing those stairs.

The window are dark, no light from within.
Must you really be warned again?

Oops – guess I’m the one to have the scare;
relieved to wake from that mini nightmare.

  1. Oh a surprise ending! Love it!

  2. Oh I love this one! Just the right amount of “scary” ! I also love this photo – someone pointed out that the big tree behind the house is a monster face…..I hadn’t even noticed that!
