Wildlife Wednesday: Sunrise Geese

Today, I’m sharing a picture and a video from yesterday morning just after sunrise.

The  honking of Canada geese was deafening as I went out on the deck for that picture.  Apparently, a new flock was arriving, and the ones that were already in our yard were either not happy about it, or they were welcoming the newcomers at the top of their lungs.

They soon resolved their differences, and things quietened down considerably. We have a few geese who are here all the time; I sure hope the 20+ that arrived yesterday will make it a quick visit and move on. They are not ‘tidy’ guests.

  1. Beautiful to watch, but you’re right about them being untidy guests. Love the sun over the water too.

  2. They do make a lot of noise – there’s a pond two houses down from us and when a flock of 10+ is about to come in for a landing there they squawk up a storm right above our heads until they settle in down there! Pretty photo.

  3. I forgot I had the bluetooth synced up & all of a sudden I heard a bunch of geese behind me !
