Poetic Thursday: Lifelong Friends

Today, as I usually do on Thursdays, I’m joining my friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy for Poetic Thursday, whose blog is Two Spoiled Cats.  They gave us this photo last week for our inspiration:

And here’s my poem:

Lifelong Friends

My buddy, Joe, called, said “Come and hang out,
but you’ll be surprised, I have no doubt”.

There was a couch full of pig, and barely room for Joe.
He said: “He needed a home, and I couldn’t say’no'”.

“Joe, you don’t say ‘no’ to a cat or a dog;
you can’t share your home with a full-sized hog.”

Joe said: “No problem, there, I’m building him a place;
out back, a big barn, he’ll have plenty of space”.

“Well, I’m sure you two will be lifelong friends,
just be sure there’s a sofa in that new pig pen.”

  2. ” a couch full of pig ” ; )

  3. Instead of a couch potato in this instance you have a couch pig. Cute poem!!

  4. Two thoughts as soon as I saw the picture – HAM!!! And there was never a pig we had growing up that I’d have shared my sofa with! Your poem was perfect.
