Poetic Thursday: Still Friends

It’s the first Poetic Thursday of February, and we’re playing along with Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats.

They gave us this cute photo for our inspiration this week:

Here’s my poem:

Still Friends

Hazel, Myrtle and Alice Fay
having such fun on dress-up day.

Hazel has always been such a hoot:
sipping ginger ale from a champagne flute.

Myrtle said: “Don’t even bother to ask:
I called dibs on this Mardi Gras mask”.

Alice Fay sits quietly and takes it all in,
remembering how long they’ve all been friends.

Sharing the fun is their favorite part:
they’re still just little girls at heart.
