Bacon’s Castle Fence

Looking through my photo archives for a Friday’s Fences entry this week, I happened upon this one.

A couple of months ago, in order to catch morning’s golden hour, Marshall and I took a very early trip one day to Bacon’s Castle.  This is the fence between the old house (circa 1665) and the barnyard.

Linking up to Friday’s Fences.

  1. Beautiful photo with the sun rays on that section – gives it a warm, golden feel! We are on the road back home, will be there around noon today. Not as many photo ops in Florida this time…but I enjoyed visiting Mom. Have a great day!

  2. A very nicely maintained fence with a bit of that “golden light” on it……a mighty pretty picture indeed!

  4. Very nice….that light spilling on to the grass on the other side of the fence too. What a fun thing to do together, you and Marshall!

  5. The fence looks like it just glowing on that one section. Very nice.

  6. I learned about the “Golden Hour” here. Love your picture(s) from that time of day. Thank you for another visit.

  7. beautiful light.

  8. I had seen this old place in many different lights over ten years, but I don’t think I’d ever been to the Castle at that early hour… especially with sun like we had that morning! This is also (almost) looking in the direction that I always referred to as the “back 40″ … great one !!

  9. I feel certain, our grandfather(with his chaw of tobacco in his mouth and the juice running down the side of his mouth) looked at that area many day, and called the boys (uncles) to get going to the field………Also, when we were there to visit, he would grab and give you a kiss, whether you wanted a tocacco kiss or not and laugh………
