Hope you aren’t tiring yet of California pictures, since I’m sharing more today.
The beaches of California are so very different from ours here in Virginia and on the nearby Outer Banks of North Carolina. California beaches have high cliffs and rocks. Big rocks. Although January isn’t exactly beach weather, we visited several California beaches during our trip.
We turned off Coast Highway onto a street in Laguna Beach and found this amazing view.
And this is one of my favorite pictures from our trip. It’s our friends, Bev and Bill, sharing a playful moment ON the beach at Laguna.
One day we drove to Venice Beach, where another of my favorite photos was taken. I told Bev I’d take a picture of her with a wave crashing against the rocks in the background. Oops, that was just a little too close for comfort.
Later in the week, we drove further north to Ventura Beach.
And Bev took one of my favorite pictures of Motor Man and me.
You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t shared any sunset photos yet. I’ve got quite a few of those that I’m saving for Sunset Sundays. But here’s a tease. This one was taken in Newport Beach.
And another favorite picture of Motor Man and me just outside a cave there by the ocean.
This next photo is also a favorite. It was taken of Bev at sunset at Crystal Cove on our last evening in California. Wonder what she was thinking…

Some really wonderful/gorgeous photos. I love the big rocks and that one from Laguna with all those pretty flowers with the ocean beyond is so pretty. No wonder that one Bev took of you and MM is one of your favorites – it’s adorable……it just looks like ALL of you had a grand time seeing the sights. That’s what vacations with friends are all about! Tired of California? No way! MORE MORE MORE!!!

Gorgeous photos! I love the ones of you and hubby…but I had to laugh at the one of the spray on the rocks! Just a great shot! No way am I tired of California photos! Yours are delightful!

These are all wonderful photos of the beautiful coast in CA, but I especially like the one of your friend running away from the spray! Great capture! Glad you and Motor Man had such a good time!

Beautiful as always! I love California and the west coast, all the way up. A good friend of mine says that the east has beaches, and the west has coasts. Of course there are some beaches in the west also, but there are more rocky coasts. I can never decide which I like best! ~ Sheila

Love the photos; I know just where you were when you snapped the shot of the beach and flowers in Laguna. Grew up in Vegas and went to CA all the time. Live in MI now and planning a trip over the summer to visit the beach… can’t wait. These pictures got me more excited than I already am!! You and your husband are so cute….

Sunsets around here can be amazing, but there’s just something special about West Coast sunset pictures .. after all, the sunset is a “western thing” 🙂

You sure got some great pictures! The CA beaches not only look different…the waves are different, the shells or lack of, are different and it even smells different! I lived there for about 10 years and really enjoyed all the beaches but the smell of “our” Atlantic ocean is the one I love.

Your pictures of the rocky beaches remind me of the Oregon coast. When we lived there, I never could stop marveling over how different it was from the Atlantic Ocean beaches I was familiar with. Nice photos, Dianna, I love the ones of you & MM!
In regard to your last photo, I’d be thinking, “I don’t ever want to leave this place!” I enjoy seeing all your pictures, and can feel the love. Wonderful pictures, Dianna.
