Barn Charm In North Carolina

Motor Man and I spotted this barn during our recent trip to North Carolina. I believe it was near Murfreesboro.

I was glad to get a shot of it that didn’t include this old storage trailer. (Don’t these property owners realize that we’re trying to get nice Barn Charm photos here? They need to store all unsightly things BEHIND the barns!)

And when I downloaded my pictures to the computer, I noticed the two peanut trailers parked in the open area of the barn.

I don’t know if this is still in use or not. We couldn’t see from the highway if there was a recently used driveway or farm lane leading to it.

Linking up to Barn Charm.

  1. It sure has character Dianna! Love the texture of the wood and the flip of the corner of the roof on the first shot. I think it was giving you a “hi!” and a wink with that little window down to the right.

  2. Red barns will ALWAYS be my favorites….this one’s seen some action in its’ day but that just makes it more “charming” !!

  3. I agree – sometimes these people just need to clean up the area for our photos! This is a lovely barn – I would think the peanut trailers might mean that they still use it…anyway we can hope so. It would mean the farm was still operational…I hate to see our farms and farmers going away!

  4. Still partial to red barns. There’s just something about them.

  5. I really like the slope of the roof…

  6. Interesting ole red barn with its overhang and all its doors. hmmm…I think I’d like to open the middle door.

  7. I’ve had the same thought about people’s “stuff” getting in the way of my photos! hehe! It’s still a great place though!

  8. i dare you to leave them a note, next time, telling them you’d like their ‘junk’ moved out of the shot. 🙂

  9. Perfect old rusty red. Love it in that first pic as it peeks over the green grass. Also nice to see that it might be in use. I hear photo shop is good for ‘changing’ surrounding scenery!! 😉

  10. A classic barn ! Red is the way to go with a barn like this .. I think the trailer is a great addition to the scene !

  11. I’m in fierce agreement with out about storage buildings belonging behind the barns & not right out in the open of the shot! Man oh man! LoL!

    Thank you for joining =)

  12. I like your red barn shots!

  13. Really nice barn picture – I love it in red. How annoying – people leaving their things lying around when trying to take pictures – have they no consideration, lol. 🙂

  14. It looks like it is about to ooze back into the ground…..dust to dust? Beautiful!

  15. “..peanut trailers”. That makes me giggle…and makes me hungry!

  16. It’s a really great barn! It’s funny how fussy we get about things getting “in the way” of our special shots! 🙂

  17. Lovely barn! Too bad about the storage trailer and the inconsiderate farmer. And can’t they bury those power lines?

  18. If the barn owners knew how many people were out there with cameras looking for their barn, they’d set up a booth and charge admission! lol

  19. Nice barn! I agree about the stuff around barns – it can mess up a perfectly good shot!

Junk around or not you still seem to pick out the beauty of the barns.
