This little barn is located just a few miles from us.
My paternal grandfather’s half-brother, Bolden (known as “Boley”), once owned and lived on the property. I never knew my granddad; he died the year before I was born. And I don’t recall ever meeting Boley, although he lived until 1988.
Looking back, I wish I’d made the effort to meet him.
Linking up to Barn Charm.
I think I met Boley and his wife a couple of times…..but it was many, many years ago. That property of theirs was very beautiful and always immaculately kept!
Isn’t it funny how we look back and think of the great conversations we likely missed out on. I have many regrets about some relatives myself.
Very sweet little barn! Lovely puffy clouds in the top picture. Hardly anyBODY left in my family on my Mom’s side and I am sorry I didn’t get to talk to many of them. Hmm, I see a tractor.. 🙂
it’s got beautiful lines and such pretty weathered wood. i have the same feeling about many of my relatives. knowing them and spending time with them, is much more important to me now!!
Love it, it was a shame you never got to meet Boley, I bet he would of had a few stories to tell. Have a wonderful day xx00xx

That really is a charming barn and to have your own family connections tied to it makes it even more special.
That is a wonderful little barn…and we all have regrets…I so wish I had asked my mom and dad more stuff…
Pretty little barn and a pretty setting. Have a great day!
We all wish we had asked more questions and seen more family now that so many of gone.
sweet little barn!
Hi! you would have liked Bolden Ellis. Very talkative and so much younger than Granddaddy Ellis……Neither of them ever met a stranger!!!!!!,,,jj
Looks like another hard worker – that lean-to on the left is great !
What memories that barn must hold! Isn’t it funny how you think of a relationship that wouldn’t have interested you when you’re younger that you realize would have probably been so interesting. Funny the ways we change as we get older…
Beautiful setting so close to you. When we’re young, we never think of what we’ll miss if we don’t make an effort to contact relatives. I wonder why Boley didn’t try to get in touch with you? Works both ways.
Nice little barn……..looks like a nice chunk of property it’s “living” on too! That barn has certainly seen many, many years and people coming and going.

Pretty little barn!
That is a cute little barn! : )
Sweet, it’s so neat you have a personal connection with that quaint old barn. 🙂
Like you, I don’t think that I met some relatives who lived near me when I was growing up. Looking back, it seems surprising that our paths never crossed in the small rural community.
This is a nice-looking barn.
Very nice barn!
interesting lil barn, cute shape =)
