Early morning is my favorite time to walk. The quietness then allows me to be aware of my surroundings more so than at any other time.
As I walk, I hear birds singing, the wind rustling, lawn sprinklers, an occasional dog barking and sometimes the distant rumble of a workboat engine.
I smell roses, honeysuckle, freshly mown grass, and perhaps bacon that a neighbor is cooking for breakfast.
I feel a soft breeze and warm sunshine on my face (on the pleasant days).
I see the usual: butterflies, rabbits, squirrels, neighbors heading off to work or walking their dogs, but, occasionally, I see something totally unexpected that brings a smile.
(On a whim, I Googled the words and learned that they’re lyrics to a song. Since I’m completely and unashamedly “lost in the 50’s and 60’s” when it comes to music, I wasn’t familiar with it.)
I sure hope her fella is worthy of this young lady’s artwork.
The rules of Five Photos; Five Stories are to post a photo a day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph. Oh yes, and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge . Today, I’m tagging Latane of Living Life On Main Street. Latane and I live within about 30 minutes of each other and hope to meet in person soon!
