We are on the verge of the weekend, and it’s time for five randoms.
1.) I must post a correction: the black stallion I shared photos of in Wednesday’s post was, in reality, NOT Gus. I had attempted to confirm it as I was writing the post, but I learned later that it wasn’t. This was the Gus imposter that we saw:
And the REAL Gus in this photo from the Corolla Wild Horse Fund.

So I apologize for the incorrect information. And one day, I hope we’ll see the REAL Gus.
2.) Wednesday, Motor Man and I had been out to lunch, and as we were walking back to our vehicle, I tripped on the curb and fell. Why is it that, when you fall, it takes forever to actually hit the ground? I remember thinking: can I please just fall already and get this over with? As Motor Man helped me to my feet, a young woman came running over to us to see if I was okay. She retrieved my shoe and offered to go inside and get me another soft drink (I had dropped mine during the fall). The folks in the drive-thru were certainly treated to a show as they waited in line. No serious injuries: just some soreness, and my pride was more than a little bruised.
3.) Anybody seen Sundae? Cute: earlier this morning, she “kissed” me on my ear. Not cute: it was 4:45 this morning and woke me from a sound sleep.
4.) Yesterday, I spent much of the day running errands. Soon after I returned to the shop, Gypsy was in my lap in her signature position. Silly girl cat.
5.) And, finally, in our travels, Motor Man and I recently saw this truck-being-used-as-a-billboard. I’ve sometimes heard the word realtor pronounced “reel-a-tor”, but I was a bit surprised to see it spelled this way in the web address. Oh well, if you’re looking for real estate in southeast Virginia/northeast North Carolina, here’s your link.
Happy weekend! We’re hoping for some sun for a change.

Yikes! I’m happy to hear you weren’t injured Dianna. Why is it that when we fall it feels like slow motion?
I enjoyed meeting the imposter Gus too! Happy Weekend!
I guess you finally heard from Corolla. The Shackleford stallion is stockier. I told you original Gus looked like barn kept stock he was so trim and nice. Both nice, beach horses and quite similar at first glance. I am sure your discerning eye will pick him out easily very soon! I am glad you were not hurt in your acrobatics in the parking lot and love the actions of the young mother. You are right-such a good living example for her children. Your kitty pictures charming because face it, they are both just charming personalities unique to each. Great weekend my friend!
Beautiful pictures and glad you are OK from your fall. LOVE the quilt that Sundae is resting on.
Ouch on the fall……as I told you I’ve done that once but fortunately I only had one “observer” and not a whole audience! It’s true though that it seems to take FOREVER to actually hit the ground on a fall. Love the picture of Gypsy – she’s definitely a “lap cat” ! As for sun – we might have some Sunday before the COLD front arrives…but I’m not counting on it.

1) Both horses are charming. It’s a blessing to see the beauties still running free. I figure someday you’ll see Gus and treat us to some great photos of him.
2) I’m glad you didn’t get seriously hurt. I agree, falls do seem to sometimes happen in slow motion. It’s kind of frightening.
3) Sweet little Sundae, her love knows no time restraints. I do wonder what goes through our pets minds when they do that though.
4) Gypsy is a beautiful charmer. She knows how to get Mom’s attention and snuggles.
5) The internet sure makes folks/businesses creative with their names and domains. Around here it’s common for folks to say reel-a-tor. I’ve been known to use both pronunciations.
I hope your weekend is an awesome one! 🙂
Falling is such a silly experience…except for the pain!
Glad only your pride was bruised..
The last time I hit the deck was during one of those ices last winter- right out on the Main St. sidewalk as cars were going by … it was ice with a light dusting of snow on top – pretty sneaky…
Gypsy looks….. comfy! .. & trusting … reminds me of Snuggs .. !
When I fall I always look to see who’s watching! Glad it was just your pride that was hurt.
May sunshine come your way (and ours too), and may your bruises heal quickly and your pride did not goeth with the fall. 🙂 Gypsy definitely has the right idea. And by the way, the two Gus-es look exactly alike!
So glad your fall wasn’t too bad, been there done that more times than I would like to remember. I think that other horse looked a lot like Gus. Both very nice. Gypsy is the cutest thing ever and not the least bit spoiled. Hope you JR have a wonderful weekend.
Glad you are okay Dianna! Gypsy is a character… 🙂 Hope you have some sun today!
Reading your post was like talking with a friend over coffee. Enjoyable and heartwarming.
Both Gus and his imposter are beautiful horses.
Forgot to mention on your previous post – that was a fantastic shot of the horse with the wind in its mane. Glad you didn’t hurt much besides your pride! Your kitties are quite entertaining – unless it’s TOO EARLY!
