It’s been a while since I’ve done a R5F, so here are five random thoughts:
1.) One of my Facebook memories this week was from five years ago. It was the day our friends took us to Corolla to see the wild horses for the first time; we saw seven that day. I cannot imagine how many horses we’ve seen since that first trip. Little did we know…..
2.) Last night, one of our local restaurants, Wharf Hill Brewery, had a special event: dinner by candlelight. Motor Man and I went with our friends, Bev and Bill. The building that is home to the Brewery was built in 1906, and electricity didn’t come to our town until 1907, so that was the inspiration for the event. Dinner by candlelight is nice: photography by candlelight is challenging.
3.) Yesterday morning, the sunrise was especially colorful. As I was out on the deck, taking pictures, I noticed some unusual sounds (other than the drone of the work boats and that super-happy bird). As far as I know, no one near us has a cow, but I could have sworn I heard one in the distance. You may be able to hear it toward the end of this video.
4.) Yes, she’s definitely trying to figure out that bird feeder, which is attached to the tree limb with a zip-tie (cable tie) to critter-proof it.
5.) Tomorrow, we’re looking forward to lunch with special friends whom we haven’t seen in awhile.

Dinner by Candlelight – how Wonderful – such a neat idea. Those friends didn’t know what they had started when they took you on your first ‘horse adventure’, and I tried to hear the cow and was disappointed not to, but loved the din of the workboats – so peaceful. And aren’t deer persistent???? Enjoy your friends and lunch tomorrow.
Sounded like a cow to me! I wonder if it could have been a buck? The only sound I have heard deer make is an angry snort when I scared one in the dark with the garbage can.,, scared me too! Love the super happy bird! Lunch with friends is always fun!

Definitely heard the cow (see Facebook response). I love your bird feeders. Is that to the right of the snowman also a feeder? I noticed a woodpecker in my neighbor’s tree yesterday, although I could see him pecking the tree, I couldn’t hear him. I love “Random” entries!
