Recently, I caught sight of a swallowtail, enjoying the verbena in one of my hanging baskets.
The verbena shares that pot with some euphorbia (Diamond Frost), both of them deer-proof, thankfully. I haven’t been diligent about keeping that plant watered, so it isn’t as pretty as it was earlier in the season.
I guess its beautiful visitor still found it to be satisfactory.

I can’t recall seeing so many swallowtails as I have this year……I love them!

Don’t the flowers with the butterflies and hummingbirds feasting just make you smile all over? Love your picture. Started my morning off with a smile.
The swallowtails love our butterfly bush. So fun to watch.
That verbena was waiting for that swallowtail ….
Beautiful butterfly and plants.
