Poetic Thursday: Pirates

Today on Poetic Thursday, we’re celebrating “Talk Like A Pirate” Day. I’m joining Pam and her boys at Two Spoiled Cats today as we share poetry inspired by this photo.

Here’s my poem:

Pirates

That long, wild hair and evil eye;
no one can explain it, no one knows why.

Surrounding him, there’s a certain mystique,
in spite of that obvious menacing streak.

His bad boy charm draws women near,
while men avoid him and live in fear.

Wait….can women be pirates? I can’t say.
If so, that ‘mystique’ would work both ways.

  1. I’m thinking JR is feeling the “mystique” of that pirate woman statue!! Well done on the poetry challenge this week. This was a FUN photo or poetry.
