Happy October, everyone, and welcome to another Poetic Thursday with Pam and her boys at Two Spoiled Cats.
This is the ‘sweet’ photo we were given for this week’s poetic inspiration:
And here is my poem:
Tempting
Cheesecake, tarts and chocolate eclairs;
a sweet-tooth’s heaven, I do declare.
The aroma greets you outside the door,
tempting you to buy even more.
Sugar and flour, so let’s be clear:
there’s certainly no health food here.
But I’m not a big fan of cakes and pies,
just don’t let me near a basket of fries.
Yesterday, my friend, Janet, and I met for a visit and iced tea at our local bakery. I thought of this photo when we saw their display of ‘goodies’. But we were good and resisted the temptation.
Would you be tempted?
~These Days Of Mine~
Nice job with this week’s prompt! Would I be tempted? For heavens’ sakes YES I would. I’m not a big dessert eater but once in a while it’s good to have a “mood enhancer” like something sinful from a bakery!
Pam
GREAT poem! And, YES, I was tempted, but we both resisted. To tell the truth – our visit was my Sweet Treat.
Really great content !
Um….heck yes! That would be totally tempting. And that photo reminds me of an amazing bakery we have in our area called Oakmont Bakery. Their yummy treats are to die for. Check out their site here: https://oakmontbakery.com/
a great poem to kick off Halloween season ! ..
& I know all about those fries ….
Not only was your poem sweet (ha ha) but it made me hungry.
