Go West

Since there was a small storm bringing showers along the coast on Sunday, we decided to head to the mountains for our day trip.

Although I’m sure it isn’t the ‘peak’ for fall foliage, there was definitely more color than there is so far in our area.

We happened upon a trail ride in progress!

And I was able to get some horse nuzzles.

It was a gorgeous day for a trip to the Blue Ridge mountains – easy to see how they got the name.

Do you have fall foliage in your area yet?

  1. Yes we have a lot of Fall foliage – in our own yard and woods. Reds/oranges/yellows……it’s my favorite time of the year. Looks like you all had a nice time!

  2. You know what I love? The fact that we are both enjoying the Blue Ridge Mountains at different parts! Our colors aren’t very good yet but it is still early. You were meant to be there when that trail ride went through. How fun!

  3. What a beautiful drive. I could just feel the stress slipping off my shoulders looking at your pictures.

  4. Nice! Yes, the leaves are turning here and they are more beautiful this year than they have been for some time. I need to get out and get some pictures taken but am still looking after grandchild and daughter because of daughter’s recent surgery.

  5. Yes, our fall colours started a couple weeks ago, but with each windy day they are getting less and less. It’s my favourite time of the year.

  6. I always think about that Halloween that we just took a random ride up there – I haven’t seen foliage like that since –

There is nothing better than the Blue Ridge Mountains anytime but especially in the fall.

  8. Looks like the welcoming start of a beautiful fall!
