Poetic Thursday: Never Too Old

Thursday has come once again, and with that, poetry over at Two Spoiled Cats. Pam and her boys, Teddy and Angel Sammy, provided us with this fun photo for this week’s inspiration.

And here is my poem:

Never Too Old

Just look at these two, Ethel and Dan;
they like to have fun whenever they can.

Ethel bought a skateboard and wanted to learn;
Dan gladly helped her while waiting his turn.

A skateboard lesson out in the dirt?
Guess it cushions a fall and lessens the hurt.

Dan shook his head and said: “Ethel! Really?
You’re just not ready to pop a wheelie!”

Good for you, Ethel, you’re never too old;
maybe one day, we’ll watch you go for the gold.

  1. GREAT poem! And look-she’s already working on that wheelie!!! She’s definitely braver than me!

  2. Sweet poem……I just fell in love with this photo when I found it for our Poetry Thursday exercise – these two would be FUN to have in the family. LOL
