I’m skipping Windowpane Wednesday this week in order to bring you something I find pretty amazing.
Yesterday, as I walked through our garage, something in our garden cart caught my eye.
This time of year, especially, that garden cart in our garage seems to be a ‘catch-all’: Costco size packages of paper products, a Christmas flag that hasn’t yet made it to the closet, a piece of wood that may be a future painting project…
BUT, also in there is a Gerbera daisy.
Let me tell you about that little plant: I brought it in before the first frost, sometime around the middle of November, I’m guessing.
And, sad to say, I haven’t watered it since then (obvious by the dead leaves). And it was nowhere near a window to get any natural light.
But, there it was, just blooming away.
So I did what I should have been doing all along: watered it and placed it by the window for some light.
It brings to mind one of my favorite quotes:
“Bloom where you’re planted.”
