Poetry day here at These Days. Pam and her ginger kitties at Two Spoiled Cats provided us this photo for inspiration for today’s poem:
And here’s my poem:
Out On This Lake
Out on this lake, I’ll make a wish;
out on this lake, it may come true.
Out on this lake, I’ll wait for a fish.
Come, sit with me, and you can wait, too.
Out on this lake, time seems to slow down.
Out on this lake, I’m a child once again.
Out on this lake on the outskirts of town,
it’s a bumpy ride down a long dirt lane.
Out on this lake is where I find peace;
out on this lake in the late afternoon.
Out on this lake, it’s catch and release
on this perfect day in the middle of June.
~These Days Of Mine~
Great job! When I look at this photo I see peace and quiet…..something occasionally in short supply in our lives these days! Thanks for being part of Angel Sammy’s Poetry fun.

How nostalgic. Visions of a peaceful day. I wouldn’t even need a worm on that hook.
You really are talented at creating these poems, Dianna! Great job!
Another great one ! – perfect for the pic …
i also noticed you have an abab, cdcd, efef rhyme scheme. if you were to add a gg couplet at the end,
you’d have an Elizabethan Sonnet ! ; )
You did it again. Lovely peaceful poem.
