Poetic Thursday: Not My Style

As I usually do on Thursdays, I’m joining Pam and her kitties at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.

Before we get to the poetry, though, I’d like to mention that I’ll have a special Friday post this week. Tomorrow I’ll share my annual These Days “Halloween” post.

Now on to Poetic Thursday!

Our inspiration photo for this week:

Are you ready for my poem?

Not My Style

This ‘fashion’ has me shaking my head:
give me jeans and a comfy shirt instead.

And the purpose of those shoes?
Not for walking, must be to amuse.

Does anyone really wear these clothes?
Or just the models at fashion shows?

If we saw this ‘get-up’ in our little town,
we’d think the circus had lost a clown.

With all ‘due’ respect to the fashion industry.

  1. WOW!!! If she shook her head it might tip her over! And you’re right about the circus loosing a clown – that would be the thought. But it was fun to read and brought a smile to my face.

  2. So perfect!!
I can feel you shaking your head and grinning as you composed your poetry response.
Loved the shoes HAVE to be for amusement and give me comfy jeans and shirt.
Well done with a dash of 🌶!

  3. Have to agree with your poem! The get-ups that are called “fashion” sometimes remind me of strange Halloween costumes. 😉

  4. … & even the circus might just tell her to keep on walkin’ !!!

  5. HA! I found this photo very perplexing too and that’s part of the reason I chose it for Poetry Day. I thought we’d get some INTERESTING poetry but mostly I was simply aghast at the whole outfit HEAD to TOE! Well done poem – you saw what I saw for sure……clown.

You nailed it, Dianna, again. Love this poem. Not my style either.
