Today, our Christmas week Poetic Thursday post with our friends Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats. We love participating in this each week, and are thankful to Pam for hosting.
Here’s our photo inspiration:
And here’s my poem:
Gratitude Attitude
It’s Christmastime and very clear
that it’s time for a little lesson here.
Let’s learn all about gratitude,
with a slight adjustment in attitude.
Children don’t know this from the start:
that thankfulness comes straight from the heart.
A gift isn’t judged by size or amount;
it’s GIVEN to you, and that’s what counts.
When we open a gift, we say thank you and smile,
even if it isn’t exactly our style.
This lesson, when learned, is so uplifting,
and then….. comes the gentle art of regifting.
Merry Christmas everyone!!
~These Days Of Mine~
HAHAHA…..I’ve often wondered (truly) through the years how many of the things I’ve given people they’ve regifted. But hopefully in the end everyone is happy! This little girl hopefully will learn a lesson of some kind – that face says many things…..including attitude adjustment ! Great job with your poem today – thanks for joining in the fun.
Pam
I do believe you’ve captured the entire gift-giving spectrum right here in this poem ! Her expression makes me think of a picture I saw online.. It has a ziploc bag with 4 AA batteries in it and a note that reads ” toy not included ”
; )
Loved your poem. I agree with Marshall it captured the true art of gift giving. Hadn’t we all regifted at some time or other. lol
Well done and Merry Christmas to you and family! 🎅🤶🧑🎄
Great poem and I like the funny twist at the end.
I LOVE your poem and the lesson in it. Merry Christmas!
