Who’s ready for some poetry? As usual, today we’re joining Pam and her ginger kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, for Poetic Thursday over at Two Spoiled Cats.
Here’s the adorable photo we were given for our inspiration this week:
And this is my poem:
Ground Rules
Okay, little buddy, it’s time for school.
We need to establish a few ground rules.
Don’t make the folks mad:
use those puppy pads.
And as Mom said,
stay off the bed.
When you have the choice,
use your inside voice.
Don’t jump on folks, that’s just rude,
and most of all, dude, don’t eat my food.
BUT:
This house is filled with lots of love,
enjoy those ear scritches and tummy rubs.
We’ll have fun on all those car rides,
and I’ll be there right by your side.
The back yard is huge, and the kids are fun.
Your ‘furever-home’ life has just begun.
I’m glad you’re here, you little whippersnap,
now class is dismissed, let’s go have a nap.
~These Days Of Mine~
This was so cute. Love your blog.
That is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute and perfect for the photo this week! Well done…..I knew we’d see some sweet poems today.
Hugs, Pam
Made me smile from ear to ear – from the picture through the poem! And this school librarian sure appreciated the inside voice advice.

Perfect exchange (as we imagine) between older dog and puppy!!
